LEHIGH VALLEY PLANNING COMMISSION AND LEHIGH VALLEY TRANSPORTATION STUDY PUBLIC MEETING NOTICE: FUTURELV COMPREHENSIVE PLAN/LONG-RANGE TRANSPORTATION PLAN 2019
The LVTS Board will hold public meetings Aug 20, 12 pm at the LVPC office, 961 Marcon Blvd, Ste 310, Allentown, PA, and Aug 21, 6 pm at Northampton Community College Fowler Family South Side Center Rm 114, 511 E 3rd St, Bethlehem, PA 18015 to consider the draft FutureLV: The Regional Plan, Northampton County and Lehigh County Comprehensive Plan/Long Range Transportation Plan, changes in scope of work on three projects in the 2019 – 2022 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), the accompanying Air Quality Conformity Analysis Report, and an Environmental Justice analysis. The purpose of the public meetings is to solicit comments on these documents.
These documents are available for public review starting on Aug 9. The public comment period will be 45 calendar days for the Long-Range Transportation Plan and for the Lehigh and Northampton county comprehensive plan. The comment period for both plans ends September 23, 5 pm.
The documents are available for review during normal business hours at the following: LVPC, PennDOT District 5 (1002 Hamilton St., Allentown), LANTA (1060 Lehigh Street, Allentown), Allentown Public Library (1210 Hamilton Street, Allentown), Bethlehem Area Public Library (11 West Church Street, Bethlehem), and Easton Area Public Library (515 Church Street, Easton). Meeting facilities and plan review locations are accessible to persons with disabilities and the locations are reachable by public transit. The report and project descriptions can also be found on the LVPC’s website at www.lvpc.org. Comments may be provided via the public meetings, phone, or email at email@example.com.
A joint meeting of the LVTS Technical and Coordinating Committees will be held Oct 2, 9 am at the LVPC to consider adoption of the previously mentioned documents and amendment of the 2019 – 2022 TIP.

SENIOR COMMUNITY PLANNER
The Senior Community Planner provides regional and community planning services for the Lehigh Valley community. The Senior Community Planner will assist with comprehensive and subarea planning projects addressing complex, sometimes politically sensitive issues and serves as the lead planner for subdivision, land development, community ordinances and plans review. The Senior Planner also serves as advisor to the Director of Community Planning and stands-in for the Director at the Director’s request. The LVPC Community Planning Section is responsible for FutureLV: The Regional Comprehensive Plan, multi-municipal comprehensive planning, specific community plans, municipal planning services and special planning projects, subdivision and land development review, community ordinance analysis, supports the Planning Commission and leads cross-departmental planning and policy efforts. Team members act as project leads managing projects, and act as community consultants with a high degree of independence and provide direct guidance to the LVPC leadership, other LVPC sections, boards and commissions, and the public. Team members are expected to be highly capable communicators and collaborators that work well with complex, multifaceted problems that require innovative solutions. The LVPC Team is entrepreneurial, innovative, highly motivated, cross-disciplinary and committed to effectively planning for and responding to 21st century needs.
SENIOR GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS PLANNER
The Lehigh Valley Planning Commission (LVPC) seeks to grow the technical transportation planning, geospatial, geoanalytics, cartographic and economic modeling capacity and capabilities. Specifically, LVPC is seeking an individual with Geographic Information Systems skills and an interest in applying them to regional planning efforts.
The Senior Geographic Information Systems Planner will have significant responsibilities in comprehensive, long-range planning, spatial analytics, and predictive modeling. This position works under limited supervision, as part of the LVPC Team to coordinate the region’s Geographic Information System (GIS), prepare maps and databases, conduct a variety of geospatial and economic analyses, develop predictive models and initiate, monitor and oversee planning projects. Reports to the Assistant Director of Transportation Planning and Data.
